QuickScan

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Rational Studio (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use QuickScan: PDF & OCR Scanner (“QuickScan”, the “App”).

QuickScan is designed primarily to scan documents, import images, crop and enhance scans, recognize text using OCR, create PDF documents, and let you view or share files that you choose.

1. Information QuickScan Accesses

QuickScan may access the following information or device features only when needed for app functionality:

2. How We Use This Information

The information above is used only to provide features you request, such as document capture, automatic cropping, perspective correction, enhancement, OCR, PDF creation, local document management, and sharing.

3. On-Device Processing

QuickScan is designed so that core scanning, image processing, document cropping, and local file management are performed on your device. OCR may use Google ML Kit or similar on-device technology depending on the app build and device capabilities.

We do not intentionally upload your scanned documents or OCR text to our own servers as part of the core scanning workflow.

4. Storage and Retention

Scanned images, PDFs, and text files that you save are stored on your device or in a location that you choose through Android's storage or sharing interfaces.

These files remain available until you delete them from QuickScan, remove them from device storage, uninstall the App where applicable, or delete them using another file-management tool.

5. Sharing

QuickScan does not automatically send your documents to other people. When you tap Share, Android's system sharing interface may allow you to send a PDF, image, or text to another app or service that you select. Once information is shared with another app or service, that third party's privacy policy applies.

6. Third-Party Services

QuickScan may use third-party software components for specific functionality. For example, Google ML Kit may be used for OCR/text recognition. Such services are governed by their own terms and privacy documentation.

QuickScan does not currently require a user account, cloud account, or subscription for the core functionality described in this policy.

7. Advertising and Analytics

The current QuickScan scope described by this Privacy Policy does not include advertising SDKs or behavioral advertising. If advertising, analytics, cloud backup, account features, or other services are added in a future release, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are made available.

8. Permissions

QuickScan requests only permissions necessary for the feature you choose to use. Camera access is requested for scanning, while image access may be requested when you import a photo. Where supported, QuickScan uses Android system pickers so you can choose specific files instead of granting broad access to all device media.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect app data. However, no device, storage system, or electronic method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and deciding where you save or share sensitive documents.

10. Children's Privacy

QuickScan is a general-purpose productivity utility and is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers.

11. Your Choices

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when QuickScan's features, data practices, legal requirements, or third-party services change. The latest version will be published at the privacy-policy URL used in the App and Google Play listing, with an updated effective date.
